Al Hubbard

Al Hubbard co-founded E&A Industries in 1977 and has served as the CEO since its founding. Along with searching for new acquisition opportunities, Al is instrumental in the oversight of E&A’s current portfolio holdings.

In addition to his work at E&A Industries, Al has served in the White House under two different administrations. During the George H.W. Bush administration, Al was Deputy Chief of Staff to Vice President Dan Quayle and Executive Director of the President’s Council on Competitiveness. More recently for President George W. Bush, Al was Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and Director of the National Economic Council. Al has also served on a number of for-profit and not-for-profit boards including WellPoint Corporation.

Al earned his J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School, his MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School , and his B.A., cum laude, from Vanderbilt University.



Devin Anderson

Devin Anderson is President of E&A Industries and has day to day oversight of portfolio companies in addition to acquisition responsibilities.

In 1997, Devin led the acquisition and operations of Gilchrist & Soames, a purveyor of fine English toiletries in the North American independent luxury hotel market. Under his leadership, the company grew from a regional company with 10 employees and $6 million in revenue to a global platform business with 120 employees and $45 million in revenue. E&A sold Gilchrist & Soames in October 2007 to Swander Pace Capital in San Francisco.

Prior to joining E&A Industries in 1997, Devin served in a number of political and government leadership positions including Chief of Staff to Indiana Congressman David McIntosh in Washington, D.C., U.S. Senator Dan Coats, and the Republican Party.

Devin is a B.A. graduate of Franklin College, a small liberal arts college in the Midwest. He is a member of Young Presidents’ Organization, Board of Trustees for Central Indiana Ivy Tech Community College and is active in several not-for-profit organizations.



Roger Nieman

Roger Nieman is Vice President of HR for E&A. Roger provides overall leadership and coordination of centralized E&A human resource functions. Along with developing and implementing corporate human resource strategy and programs, Roger directly administers the human resource function to multiple E&A portfolio companies.

Before joining E&A in 1988 Roger held corporate roles for JCPenney and International Telephone & Telegraph and had an administrative role at Butler University.

Roger earned his B.A. in Economics from University of Missouri. Along with his work at E&A Roger is active in the community as a leader in youth sports and professionally as an advocate for the field of human resources, both academically and in the workplace.



John Hiatt

John Hiatt is the Chief Financial Officer of E&A Industries and is responsible for all financial, tax and risk management affairs of the company, as well as developing and implementing accounting and tax policies. John coordinates the banking and external accounting relationships of the portfolio companies. As the chief accountant, John works closely with the individual controllers of each company. In acquisitions, he plays a key role in the selection and due diligence process.

Prior to joining E&A in 2003, John held significant financial positions with several entities, including Controller of a NYSE listed company and 13 years with Deloitte.

John is graduate of Indiana University, is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana CPA Society.



David Trogden

David Trogden has been with E&A Industries since 2004. The majority of that time was spent searching for and analyzing various acquisition opportunities. David led the due diligence research for the Ultra Solutions acquisition in 2008, and upon completion was deployed to California to help manage the day to day operations of the company. In David’s current role at Ultra Solutions, he oversees all operational functions and is also involved in the financial and technical aspects of the company. He is helping to build the infrastructure needed to support the future growth of the business.

David earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from DePauw University, where he is still involved in the Regional Alumni Council and Graduates of the Last Decade advisory board. While at DePauw he was a member of the cross country and track teams and he is still an avid runner today with plans to complete the Boston Marathon. He will receive his MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business in 2009.



Jason Kashman

Jason Kashman joined E&A industries in 2008. Jason is charged with leading the search for acquisition candidates. His responsibilities include maintaining relationships with business intermediaries, research of industries and specific acquisition opportunities, deal analysis and selection, as well as due-diligence.

Prior to joining E&A Jason held positions in various aspects of corporate finance. Jason’s work focused on technical financial analysis and M&A for both a NYSE listed firm and portfolio holdings of large private equity groups.

Jason earned both his B.S. and MBA in Finance from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and volunteers as a mentor for Kelley’s undergraduate career services office. Jason also serves as a volunteer for various non-for-profit organizations in the Indianapolis area.
